What is the BTU input of your current heating system?
40,000
60,000
80,000
100,000 - and more
Not Sure
What is a BTU? A BTU is, at its simplest, a measurement of heat energy. BTU stands for British Thermal Unit, and it represents an amount of heat that must be added to your indoor environment to produce heating or taken away to produce cooling. How to Determine Your Furnace BTU Size? To find the BTU size of a furnace, refer to the name plate or level plate that is located inside of the furnace, typically in sticker form.
What is the size of your current A/C System?
1 ton
2 ton
2,5 ton
3 ton
3,5 ton
4 ton
5 ton
No A/C
Not Sure
Basically all manufacturers encode the size or tonnage of their systems into the model number. Tonnage is a measure of BTU’s in 12,000 BTU increments. For example a 1 ton system would have 12,000 BTU’s. A 2.5 ton system would have 30,000 BTU’s. These are reflected in the model numbers near the middle and often followed by a letter. Getting the right size AC unit for your house is very important if you want to have the desired level of comfort and good energy efficiency. The smallest central air conditioning unit is 18,000 BTUs (1.5 tons), while the largest is 60,000 BTUs (5 tons).

What efficiency level would you like for your new furnace?
80%
92%
95%
96%
98%
Not Sure
The efficiency of a furnace is measured by its Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) rating. The higher the AFUE rating, the more efficient the furnace is. A furnace with an AFUE rating of 95% will require significantly less fuel (natural gas) to heat your home than a unit with an 80% AFUE rating. While higher-efficiency furnaces tend to cost more upfront, they allow homeowners to save money on heating costs every year.
What size A/C would you like a price for?
1 ton
2 ton
2,5 ton
3 ton
3,5 ton
4 ton
5 ton
Not Sure
Not too big, not too small. When an air conditioner cools a room too quickly, it will cycle on and off more frequently. This can put much more wear and tear on a system compared to one that is appropriately sized, which means you’ll spend more on maintenance and repairs. And whenever the unit is running, you’re likely consuming more energy than necessary to keep the room cool. A unit that is too small, on the other hand, will run around-the-clock, driving up your energy bill. It may never reach your desired temperature, and can even fail to keep spaces comfortable during the hottest times of the year.
Next steps select all appliances you wish to simultaneously power.
Selecting whole house provides a backup generator recommendation based on your home's size and corresponding outlets and lighting requirements and assumes natural gas appliances in the baseline calculation. If your home is an all electric home and includes electric appliances like an electric range, electric clothes dryer, electric water heater, etc. You can add these items below to accurately reflect your home's specific backup power needs.
What type of GAS VALVE would you like on your new furnace?
Standard
2 Stage
Modulating
Not Sure
Standard (single-stage) the thermostat in the house calls for heat, so the furnace comes on. Full power. It will run at full capacity until the thermostat is satisfied, then shut itself off. 2 Stage (two-stage) the burner in a two stage furnace can run at two different levels. Different burners are programmed differently. But as an example, the burner may be programmed to run at two stages, 60% and 100% capacity. Modulating (96%^only) run in very precise increments. Some models can run at 40% capacity and increase by .5% if the thermostat calls for it. Because they can manage temperature so precisely, they usually run continuously at a very low setting.
What type of compressor would you like on your new A/C?
Single Stage
Two Stage
Variable Speed
Not Sure
Single-Stage ac compressor only works one level of operation, cooling your home at full blast. Two-Stage ac compressor works at two levels of operations. High for hot summer days. Low for milder days when you don’t need as much cooling. Variable Speed ac compressor can operate at any capacity, making minute adjustments to the speed which will maximize your energy efficiency. Which one should I get? It depends on your budget. What can you afford right now? If your budget is tight, then a single-stage makes more sense because it costs less. But financing can help you get the two-stage or variable speed ac, if you want the greater comfort.

What type of VENT PIPE does your current furnace use?
Metal
PVC
I don’t know
PVC is considered a non-corrosive material, while stainless steel is a “corrosion-less” material. PVC can be well suited for handling chemicals and has inherent resistance against many acids that stainless steel does not. For water pipe, PVC resists corrosive water interactions, rust and does not as readily support microbiological growth as stainless steel does. In terms of mechanical strength, maximum-minimum operation temperatures, and pressure tolerance, stainless steel has the upper hand. However, PVC excels in terms of insulation to hot cold influences, its resistance to electrical conduction and its ease of installation.
What A/C efficiency SEER rating would you like for your new A/C?
14 SEER
16 SEER
17 SEER
19 SEER
21 SEER
Not Sure
Select a central air conditioner with as high a SEER as is practical within your budget. The annual cooling efficiency of a central air conditioner is affected by the manufacturer's choice of features and components. The SEER of central air conditioners ranges from a minimum of 14.0 to a maximum of about 21.0. The ideal solution to reduce electric costs related to air conditioning is to install a higher efficiency central air system (16 SEER or higher). However, high SEER central AC systems are expensive, and are typically the more advanced Central Heat Pump type (18 SEER+ systems).

What is the Square Footage of your home?
Less than 1000
1001-1500
1501-2200
2201-2701
2701-3100
3101-3600
More than 3600
Not Sure
If you're an organized person and you know where your lease or property deed is located you can find the square footage on these documents. If you are renting an apartment contact the leasing office. Most apartment complexes have very standard floor plans so a leasing agent should be able to tell you the square footage of your apartment. You can always measure each room. Begin by measuring the length and width of the room in feet. Then multiply these two numbers together to get the square feet of the room. So, for example, if your room is 10 feet by 12 feet, the total square footage would be 120 square feet.
Do you want to add indoor air quality to your quote?
Air Purifiers
Humidifier
Dehumidifier
UV Light
Thermostat
Air Quality products are energy efficient. You can save a lot of money on the energy costs in the long run while breathing in a healthier environment. When your HVAC system is clean, it can operate at maximum efficiency saving you real money on utility bills. Not to mention cleaner indoor air, means fewer allergens in your home and fewer medications you purchase.
Do You Own Your Home?
Yes
No
Why are we asking this? Standby generators are permanently installed outside of your home, so installation is not recommended on property you do not own.
