Not sure if you should repair or replace? Well, consider this: if you’re operating an inefficient system that breaks down a lot, it’s likely that it’s going to break down again. That means more expensive emergency service calls or possible damage to the other components of your heating and cooling system.
Trane High Efficiency Air Conditioners
Cooling efficiency for your air conditioner is indicated by its SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) rating, which tells you how efficiently your unit uses electricity. In general, the higher the SEER rating, the less electricity your unit will use to cool yourhome. The typical SEER rating of units made before 1992 is about 6.0. In January 2006, the government established the minimum cooling efficiency standard for units manufactured to 13.0 SEER. The maximum available is about 21.

More Stages Mean More Comfort and Efficiency
Staging refers to an air conditioners ability to run at less than its maximum capacity in order to increase comfort levels and boost efficiency. For example, two-stage systems offer better comfort and higher efficiency than single-stage systems, while Trane’s TruComfort™ variable speed system, with 700 to 750 stages, offers maximum comfort with the highest efficiency.
What does “Stages of Comfort” really mean?
Sometimes you just feel “too hot” or “too cold” between cycles of your system. Having 700/750 stages nearly eliminates temperature fluctuations. Your system glides along as if on cruise control, barely sipping electricity for much of the day. It also runs at mlower speeds for longer periods of time offering:
- Advanced temperature control
- Lower humidity
- Reduced sound
- Enhanced filtration
- Lowest cost per minute
It’s Hard To Stop a Trane
Every Trane system is tested in some of the most extreme conditions found in nature. Trane Engineers freeze, broil, stress, drop, shock, expose, listen and finally take‘em home with us to ensure they’re truly unstoppable.
It’s hard to stop a Trane isn’t just a tagline… it’s been proven. At the SEET (Systems Extreme Environmental Test) lab in Tyler, Texas, Trane products are put through 16 weeks of bone-chilling cold and blistering heat, in repeating two-week sessions. By putting Trane heating and cooling units through 5 years worth of wear and tear in the matter of a few months, Trane reinforce philosophy of making products you can rely on for years and years.
Explore the Types of Warranties
A air conditioning system is a major purchase, so make sure to discuss the details of the warranty and complete the valuable warranty registration. Warranty terms vary depending on which products you own.
