The Carrier 24VNA9 was sold as the Infinity 19VS variable-speed air conditioner with Puron (R-410A) refrigerant. With an Infinity Touch Control it runs in up to five stages between 25 and 100 percent of capacity, giving long, quiet, low-speed cycles that hold steadier temperatures and remove more humidity than a single-stage unit; with a standard two-stage thermostat it runs as a two-stage unit.

The specifications below are Carrier’s published figures for the 24VNA9 itself, not for any newer model. Carrier rated this model under the older SEER/EER method; SEER2/EER2 figures for it are not verified, so none are listed.

The 26VNA1 uses Carrier’s current R-454B refrigerant (Puron Advance), the lower-global-warming-potential refrigerant in Carrier’s current residential line. R-454B cannot be added to an existing R-410A system, and an existing R-410A system does not need to be replaced because of its refrigerant.
