Generac Guardian 26/22.5 kW Home Standby

The Guardian 26 kW delivers serious, utility-grade backup power with Wi-Fi monitoring and proven Guardian reliability. A new alternator design boosts starting capability for large appliances and HVAC loads.

• 7290 — 26/22.5 kW, Aluminum Enclosure (Generator Only)
  Ideal when you already have a transfer switch or want a custom whole-home/load-managed design. Wi-Fi/Mobile Link is included.

• 7291 — 26/22.5 kW + 200A Service-Entrance (Whole-House) Transfer Switch
  Complete bundle for up to 200A services with seamless whole-home switching and remote monitoring.

Output ratings: 26 kW on LP and 22.5 kW on NG (120/240 V split-phase). True Power™ delivers <5% THD clean power for sensitive electronics. Listed for installation as close as 18″ from a structure, per code.
Rule of thumb current: up to ~108 A (LP) and ~94 A (NG) at 240 V for steady loads—keep headroom for motor starts.

A 26/22.5 kW unit can back up most or all circuits in many gas-heated homes. Actual capacity depends on start surges, altitude, and temperature.

High-draw electric loads (tankless electric water heater, electric dryer, EV charger) usually need smart load shedding or exclusion.
