Who the Navien NPF700-060H3BH suits

The Navien NPF700-060H3BH is the smallest of the three NPF hydro-furnaces GSHA Services, LTD offers and one of the horizontal-cabinet models. Navien’s NPF is a hydronic (“hydro-air”) forced-air furnace: it has its own 97% AFUE condensing gas burner and an internal copper-and-aluminum hydronic coil, and the blower moves air across that coil and out through your existing ducts.

This model’s gas input runs from 9,000 to 60,000 BTU/h and its blower delivers up to 1,200 CFM, so it fits smaller homes and additions with modest heating loads, especially where the furnace has to lie flat in an attic, crawlspace or low-clearance mechanical area. Because the burner can run as low as 9,000 BTU/h, it can hold a steady temperature on mild days instead of cycling on and off. The right size should be confirmed with a heat-load calculation before installation; if your home needs more airflow or heat, the larger NPF700-100H5CH (horizontal) or NPF700-100U5CH (upflow) may be the better fit.

• Natural gas or propane, cooling-ready. The LP conversion kit ships in the box, the blower is rated for 1,200 CFM in cooling mode, and Navien lists the series as dual-fuel compatible with a heat pump. AC coil pairing is confirmed during the estimate.

Navien limited warranty (residential). When the unit is registered with Navien within 60 days of installation: 1-year labor, 10-year parts, and a limited lifetime warranty on the combustion heat exchanger. If it is not registered within 60 days, Navien’s terms are 1-year labor, 5-year parts and 20 years on the combustion heat exchanger. Residential terms apply to single-family use. The homeowner or installer must provide the original installation date to Navien, and proof of that date on request. Navien states that units bought through the internet or other e-commerce channels are not covered.

GSHA installation coverage. Any GSHA Install-Right coverage on this package is separate from Navien’s warranty and, if offered, is stated in your written estimate. On every GSHA package, labor coverage requires annual GSHA maintenance, and service by another company voids GSHA’s labor coverage.

Does the NPF700-060H3BH need a separate boiler or water heater?

Navien’s NPF pages describe a hydro-air furnace with its own 97% AFUE gas burner and an internal hydronic coil, and they do not list a boiler or water heater as a required component; whether any external water supply is needed is stated in Navien’s NPF700 Technical Data Sheet and is confirmed at your estimate visit.

Is this the right size for my house?

Only a heat-load calculation can say for sure. With 9,000–60,000 BTU/h of input and up to 1,200 CFM of airflow, this is the smallest of the three NPF models we offer and suits smaller homes and additions. Larger homes usually need the NPF700-100H5CH or NPF700-100U5CH, which go up to 100,000 BTU/h and 2,000 CFM.

Can it be installed in an attic or crawlspace?

Yes, that is what the horizontal cabinet is for. The unit is 17.5″ tall and lies flat. Venting still has to reach outside within Navien’s limits (70 ft for 2″ pipe, 140 ft for 3″), and the condensate needs a drain, so the estimate visit checks both.

Will it work with my air conditioner or a heat pump?

Navien rates the blower at 1,200 CFM in cooling mode and lists the NPF series as dual-fuel compatible with a heat pump. AC coil and thermostat compatibility are confirmed during the estimate.

Does it run on propane?

Yes. The unit is field convertible between natural gas and propane, and Navien supplies the LP conversion kit with the furnace.

Why does the warranty depend on registration?

Navien extends the parts warranty from 5 to 10 years and the combustion heat exchanger from 20 years to limited lifetime only when the unit is registered within 60 days of installation. Ask us about registration when the furnace is installed.
