Navien NCB-240/110H High Efficiency Condensing Combi-Boiler
The Navien NCB-240/110H is a wall-hung condensing combi-boiler that heats your home and makes domestic hot water from one compact unit. It is rated 95% AFUE with 110,000 BTU/h of heating input and 199,900 BTU/h for hot water (5.1 GPM at a 70°F rise). Installed package price from GSHA Services, LTD: $10,342.85.
Description
Who the Navien NCB-240/110H suits
The NCB-240/110H is the middle size in Navien’s NCB-H combi-boiler line, an indoor, wall-hung unit rated for single-family residential use. A combi-boiler does two jobs from one cabinet: it heats your home through radiators, baseboard or in-floor loops, and it makes domestic hot water on demand, replacing a separate boiler and water heater. The model number tells you both ratings: up to 110,000 BTU/h for heating and up to 199,900 BTU/h for hot water, which delivers 5.1 gallons per minute at a 70°F rise, typically enough for two showers running at the same time in winter. If your home needs more heating than 110,000 BTU/h, look at the NCB-240/130H; if it needs less, the NCB-190/080H may be the better fit. GSHA Services, LTD installs the NCB-240/110H for homeowners in McHenry County and Lake County, IL, and the surrounding Chicago suburbs and southeastern Wisconsin.
What you get with the NCB-240/110H
- 95% AFUE, ENERGY STAR certified. AFUE is the heating-efficiency rating, and 95% means very little of the fuel you pay for goes up the flue. Navien reaches this with condensing technology: a second stainless steel heat exchanger captures heat from the exhaust before it leaves, which is also why the unit uses PVC venting and needs a condensate drain.
- Home heating and hot water from one cabinet. One appliance replaces two, frees up floor space, and hangs on the wall at 17.3 inches wide, 29.3 inches high and 12.8 inches deep.
- Hot water that keeps up. Up to 199,900 BTU/h for domestic hot water delivers 7.9 GPM at a 45°F rise and 5.1 GPM at a 70°F rise. Hot water is made as you use it, so you are not waiting on a tank to recover.
- Modulation that reduces short cycling. The burner turns down 15:1 for hot water and up to 8.5:1 for heating. Turndown ratio is how low the burner can modulate; a wide range lets the boiler run at low fire on mild days instead of switching on and off, which is quieter, gentler on parts and better for comfort.
- Zoning built in. Powered connections for three zone pumps and three zone valves are built into the control board, which simplifies wiring in a multi-zone home.
- Durable stainless steel heat exchangers. Dual condensing stainless steel heat exchangers with an ASME H stamp, plus a separate stainless steel heat exchanger for domestic hot water.
Price and installation estimate
Installed package price: $10,342.85. This is a complete installed package for the Navien NCB-240/110H, not an equipment-only price.
The standard installation includes: setting and leveling the boiler; water piping modifications; gas line modification and a new gas valve; a new condensate drain line; a new 150 lb pressure relief valve; a 4.8-gallon hydronic expansion tank and a domestic hot water thermal expansion tank; the Navien primary manifold kit; a NaviClean magnetic filter; a commissioning kit (Protector F1 and Cleaner F3); new PVC flue venting; removal and disposal of the old equipment; and start-up, testing and a safety inspection.
What can change the final quote: gas line capacity and length, the venting route and length, where the condensate can drain, water quality treatment, electrical work, zoning and piping changes, permits, optional accessories such as NaviLink Wi-Fi or a NaviCirc recirculation valve, and how accessible the boiler location is. We confirm all of this during a free in-home estimate before any work starts. Financing available with approved credit; see our financing page.

Installation and warranty
GSHA Services, LTD is a Navien Service Specialist (NSS), an authorized Navien dealer, and is listed on Navien’s installer locator at navieninc.com. Our Navien Level 3 trained technicians handle the full combi-boiler installation: setting the boiler, gas and water piping changes, the condensate line, both expansion tanks, the primary manifold, the magnetic filter, the commissioning kit, PVC venting, disposal of the old equipment and start-up. The full list is in the price section above. The manifold, filter and commissioning steps are what keep a condensing boiler running the way Navien intends.
Navien residential limited warranty: 1 year labor, 5 years parts and 10 years on the heat exchanger. Navien’s terms apply only to single-family residential installations, the unit must be installed by a licensed contractor, and the installation date must be provided to Navien (if proof is not available, Navien uses six months after the manufacture date). Navien also states that purchases through the internet or other e-commerce channels void its warranty, which is one reason to buy the boiler through your installer.
GSHA Install-Right coverage: our combi-boiler installation package adds 5-year labor and 5-year parts coverage. The labor coverage is valid only with annual GSHA maintenance, and service by others voids it. For warranty service, contact GSHA as the original installer.
Optional add-on: a NaviCirc recirculation valve (price-book add-on $99.60; we confirm the installed cost at your estimate), which Navien lists as an optional accessory for the NCB-H series. It lets the boiler recirculate hot water through your existing pipes when there is no dedicated return line, cutting the wait at distant faucets. NaviLink Wi-Fi remote control is also listed by Navien as an optional add-on for the NCB-H series; ask during your estimate whether either makes sense for your home.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a Navien NCB-240/110H cost installed?
The GSHA Services, LTD installed package price is $10,342.85. That covers the boiler and the standard installation listed above; gas line, venting, condensate, electrical, zoning and accessory needs specific to your home can change the final quote, which we confirm with a free estimate.
Can one NCB-240/110H heat my house and supply all my hot water?
For many single-family homes, yes. It provides up to 110,000 BTU/h of heating input and 5.1 GPM of hot water at a 70°F rise, enough for more than one shower at a time in winter for many homes. Whether it fits your home depends on a heat-loss calculation and your hot-water habits, which is part of the estimate.
What is the difference between the NCB-240/110H and the NCB-240/130H?
Hot water output is the same; the difference is heating input. The NCB-240/110H tops out at 110,000 BTU/h for heating and the NCB-240/130H at 130,000 BTU/h. Both share the same cabinet size, 95% AFUE rating and Navien warranty.
Does the NCB-240/110H need special venting?
It uses 2-inch or 3-inch PVC, CPVC or polypropylene direct venting, up to 65 feet with 2-inch pipe or 150 feet with 3-inch pipe. Because it is a condensing boiler, it also needs a condensate drain, which is included in the installation package.
Does it work with propane?
Yes. The NCB-240/110H is field convertible between natural gas and propane. Tell us which fuel you have when you request an estimate.
What warranty comes with it?
Navien’s residential limited warranty is 1 year labor, 5 years parts and 10 years on the heat exchanger. GSHA’s Install-Right package adds 5-year labor and 5-year parts coverage, valid with annual GSHA maintenance; service by others voids the GSHA labor coverage.
